Back in November during the second annual Xbox-centered show hosted in London, England for last year, Microsoft revealed that three games from RGG Studio will be shipping to Xbox One, and more importantly Xbox Game Pass. Sharing that Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be shipping in the first half of 2020 to the platform.
The first part of the deal being the 2015-released title, Yakuza 0 arrived in the middle of February to unravel the story imbedded in the franchise for Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima prior to their street violence feud. Now fans hungry for the next entry do not have to wait any longer as Microsoft revealed that Yakuza Kiwami will be landing on Xbox Game Pass as soon as tomorrow.
The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account namely teased the 2016 remake not too long ago, but just an hour later revealed the big news for this coming Wednesday.
As of lately, the collection of entries for RGG Studio’s Yakuza has slowly been opening its doors to other platforms. Just a year ago, the same reimagined title debuted on PC with a Steam release which took many followers of the series off guard to see the inaugural installment to be available outside of PlayStation.
This only leaves room hoping that more modern entries of the series do arrive later down the line. Granted, all three slated releases did release within the last five years. I’m talking about Yakuza 3 and following which have yet to be announced. Perhaps more is to come later on in the coming future between Microsoft and Sega?
Are you excited to see more Yakuza games on Xbox?
Yakuza Kiwami is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
