Yooka-Laylee, one of 2016’s game darlings, has unfortunately been delayed. But it is not all bad news as the developers released a trailer to show what players can expect.

The game, which is attempted to recapture and re-energise the 3D platforming genre, announced today that it will be releasing in Q1 of 2017 not Q4 of 2016 as originally planned.
Yooka-Laylee puts the player in control of the titular characters, Yooka a male chameleon and Laylee a female bat, as you go from world to world collecting all of the paiges. The characters will also be able to transform into different forms which will unlock different abilities.
Playtonics Games has plenty of experience creating games like this, with several key personnel coming from the Nintendo era of Rare with Chris Sutherland, Steve Mayles and Steven Hurst even reprising their respective roles from Rare as the lead programmer and voice actor, character artist, and environmental artist respectively.
The game is set to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U along with the PC.
