Yoshi for Nintendo Switch has been delayed to 2019

Nintendo’s E3 2018 Direct featured some games and of course the highlighted title was Super Smash Bros. The one game we did not see that was in last years direct was Yoshi. The other day it was found on the eShop that the game was now listed in 2019 which would indicate a delay in development.

It’s also obvious the game is not on the E3 2018 show floor and it doesn’t even have an official name yet. President of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime was interviewed by Polygon at the show and stated that Yoshi for the Nintendo Switch “continues to be in development making great progress”.
The two big titles the company are releasing this year are the Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee! and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nintendo most likely knows how well they will do once released and how big of difference it will make in regards to console sales. It doesn’t hurt to delay Yoshi it just means they are making it better and not rushing it.
