Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition will not include the Expansion Pass

Last week, Nintendo announced that there will be a Switch 2 Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which would come with bonus content, graphical and performance enhancements. For those who are Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, the upgrade will be free.

If players have never owned Zelda: Breath of the Wild before, the Switch 2 Edition will cost $79.99. For that price, you would think you’d be getting the Expansion Pass content that the game received previously.

It was confirmed via a My Nintendo Store customer service representative that Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition will not include the Expansion Pass content. This DLC content was released in two different packs, one being The Master Trials and the other being The Champions’ Ballad. The DLC costs $20.

While this was mentioned by a customer service rep from My Nintendo Store, this may not be 100% true at this point. Nintendo has not mentioned anything yet regarding the Switch 2 Edition of its 2017 Game of the Year.

If players never owned Zelda: Breath of the Wild and purchased a Switch 2, obtaining all the content, including DLC, could cost a total of $100.

What’s interesting is that Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition will come with a brand new Star Crossed World DLC expansion.
