Nintendo has released their recent financial results as of June 30th revealing number of consoles and games sold as of June 30th. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom has sold over 18.5 million units since its launch on May 12, 2023. The primary driver has been Breath of The Wild players who purchase the sequel, but as time passed, there is a growing number of purchases from players who never touched the 2017 Zelda game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom constitutes approximately half of the first-party software sold this fiscal year. Sell-through of first-party software reached the highest level ever for a first quarter, and that’s largely due to Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.

The latest Zelda release has now more than half of Zelda: Breath of The Wild sales which sits at just over 30 million units sold. Tears of The Kingdom sold over 10 million copies within its first three days of release.
