Achievements For Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Reveals New Playable Character

While fans might combat the idea that Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is an exciting release for modern hardware, it is when discovering that a new playable character will be added to the game’s roster. This discovery comes from the game’s Xbox achievements that released for the game earlier this week.

To preserve the surprise for those planning to play the game next month, I suggest avoiding this post as this may be considered a spoiler to some players. Although this is not hidden behind a secret achievement, you have been advised.

According to the new listing of achievements on tracking website Exophase, it was revealed through two different achievements that Sega’s iconic character Sonic the Hedgehog will be a playable character in this HD remaster for the Wii title. Derived from the “Way Past Cool” and “Monkey Business” achievements, the game clearly indicates that Sega’s Blue Blur is in the game.

Initially when the game released back in 2006, the game only had AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, GonGon, YanYan, and Doctor. The addition of Sonic, though a surprise, is appreciated to immerse the experience for returning and new fans to the series. And with my own extended speculation, why stop there Sega: it would be fun to also incorporate the more forgotten Billy of Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg.

In previous Super Monkey Ball news, Sega released a gameplay trailer of the approaching remaster and upon the new look revealed that the game will also receive its respected PC version this coming Winter.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on October 29, 2019.
