Developer Remedy Entertainment in a surprise announcement shared that the PC version for 2010’s Alan Wake finally returned to Steam back in October 2018. The game just a year before faced delisting due to the title’s licensed music and forced the game to be removed from its PC storefront alongside the Xbox Store. And while the game still waited for its debut back on Microsoft’s online marketplace, the announcement has yet to be made.
That was until this week’s Alan Wake 10th Anniversary where Remedy Entertainment disclosed to be returning the game to Xbox via Xbox Game Pass. The news was spared during today’s livestream hosted by the Finnish team and later addressed in a tweet.
Not only will the game be resurfacing on the Xbox platform, but it will also be introduced to the Windows 10 store as well: the title was simultaneously shared to hit Xbox Game Pass for PC the same day, May 21. So for players unaware of the game’s world and in-depth storytelling, we suggest you start playing when it becomes available next week.
Back in July, Remedy Entertainment shared that the firm finally re-acquired the publishing rights to the title and collected 2.5 million Euros in revenue which were injected towards new projects from the studio. The team shared with VG24/7 that this won legal dispute can now open the window for a sequel to the series which many fans have cried out for the past decade now.
Previously, Rectify Gaming reviewed Remedy Entertainment’s latest project, Control. David Rodriguez shares the title “represents the best of Remedy’s past while pushing their blend of great action and storytelling to new heights.” You can read the full review by heading here.
