With video games breaking into new mediums as of late, long-promised productions are still slowly coming into form years later. For those that might not recall, Alan Wake was said to be made into a Twilight Zone-like series. At the time of the report in 2018, the show was said to be in collaboration with Contradiction Films as Peter Calloway (Legion, Cloak & Dagger) pens the story together.
Additionally, Tomas Harlan who is partnered with Contradiction Films at the time said the TV series could be the catalyst for the long-awaited announcement of an Alan Wake sequel if the success is rigorous enough. But by December 2021, Remedy Entertainment shared that the team is officially working on the new installment aimed for a 2023 release.
During the Alan Wake 12-year Anniversary, Remedy Entertainment revealed that new progress has been made on the show. In that, AMC has officially purchased the rights for the TV series. You can watch the segment of the video below:
“Y’know, as we know, sometimes making video games takes a long while. “And we have been collaborating on the TV show happen.” He goes on to express that there are no further details as of yet for the planned release of the television series. At the same presentation, the firm also revealed Alan Wake Remastered is underway for a release on Nintendo Switch sometime in the coming future.
