In the midst of planned projects for Remedy Entertainment, Alan Wake has recently resurfaced for the Finnish game studio. For 2019’s Control, add-on AWE bridges the decade-old Xbox 360 title with the latest release as the developer future properties will be intertwined in the “Remedy Connected Universe” as worded best by writer Sam Lake. But, there is the chance the team is to work on a new installment for the series.
Although Alan Wake was reintroduced with the remastered version earlier this fall, a report indicated that with Epic Games – Alan Wake 2 is underway. Later on, Remedy Entertainment in a financial report disclosed that it is beginning work on an unnamed project with the publisher. Of course, it is presumed to be for the alleged follow-up.
At The Game Awards on Thursday, Remedy Entertainment officially announces Alan Wake II. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“A familiar face appeared on screen at The Game Awards, and an equally familiar voice was heard. We are beyond excited to have finally reached the point of talking to you about what we’ve been working on for so long. Alan Wake is getting a sequel,” Remedy Entertainment writes on the Alan Wake II website.
“Trust us when we say that we appreciate your undying support for us and a certain writer through the years and believe us when we add that we at Remedy are just as fond of our lost hero as you are (wild, we know!). […] Not only that, but Alan Wake 2 also turns up the level of dread as our very first dive into the survival horror genre, so expect a chilling experience with familiar psychological horror elements.”
Additionally, Remedy Entertainment presses that the wait for more information on the new game is not far off from arriving. This summer in 2022 is projected for a future update on the title. Furthermore disclosing that the sequel will be a next-generation release leaving behind the Xbox One & PlayStation 4.
Recently, Remedy Entertainment shared its plans for the Control IP. In collaboration with 505 Games is to ship a PvE release dubbed ‘Project Condor’ as well as hinting at more entries for the established series. You can read the full report by heading here.
