Entering the territory for next-generation consoles, Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5, some of the most-popular and continually played titles are expected to receive improvements with the newer hardware. Moreso anticipating full-on upgrades for the latest SKUs hitting the market, some are still underway. In that, Apex Legends is slowly brewing its definitive next-gen version.

Originally Electronic Arts ahead of the new consoles shipping delivered a blanket list of improvements coming to the first-person shooter alongside a slew of other published titles from the firm. Additionally, Respawn Entertainment has previously nodded at its plans for the upgrade as well. In that, the firm said 120hz support is in its crosshairs for Apex Legends on the latest units.

This week, the native versions are arriving, but in only some capacity. With the arrival of the Warriors Collection Event also comes upgrades for Xbox Series & PlayStation 5 systems on Tuesday. However, other features like double performance and haptic features are missing. You can read the full list of support coming below:

As for the additions for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 said to be implemented later on, those features are: 120hz gameplay, Adaptive triggers, Haptics, Visual Improvements, and Audio Improvements. Noted, both adaptive triggers & haptic features are unique to the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

On the matter of upgrading your version of each of the system, Xbox Series consoles will automatically update the game. PlayStation 5 users must “Press the ‘Options’ button next to ‘Play Game’ and Press ‘Select Version’ and choose the PS5 version to download the updated next-gen version.”
