In terms of the upcoming additions for Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends, the ongoing battle royale is expected to swell with more added content in the coming months. For one, we just recently received Season 12 – Defiance introducing Mad Maggie to the list of Legends. But, that was only the tip of the iceberg with mobile coming into frame for more territories.
Select regions across the globe received beta access to the smart phone version of Apex Legends with an anticipated release worldwide later on in 2022. In preparation for the move, Respawn Entertainment revealed that pre-registration is now up – at least for Google Play Store that is. This goes on to suggest we are closer than we’d anticipate for the upcoming mobile version.
On Thursday, the developer uploaded a new trailer for the Warriors Collection Event unveiling more content pouring into Apex Legends including the return of the game mode Control alongside a new map for Arenas, Drop Off. The event will run from March 29th to April 12th. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below:
“This time around Caustic Treatment on Kings Canyon has been added into the mix. So, squad up, select your loadout, and fight for total control over Olympus, Storm Point, and Kings Canyon. Brought to you by Silva Pharmaceuticals. […] Caustic’s Lab is a highly defensible fortress controlled by the right team and a combination of legends. However, with solid coordination, and a well-timed offensive push, defenders can easily be routed,” the overview for the return of Control reads.
Respawn Entertainment also goes into some detail on the next locale for Arenas. “Sitting high above the skyline of Malta is the fully automated Hammond Manufacturing Tower that was constructed for a single purpose: the early production of critical systems for Olympus. Codenamed Drop-Off, the site is still in operation, but at night, Arenas fighters covertly commandeer the place for fierce matches under the smoggy skies.”
Recently, Apex Legends game director Steve Ferreira when speaking to The Loadout explained that whilst Apex Legends is a successful venture, fans should not rule out chances of a return to the source material – Titanfall. You can read the full report by heading here.
