In terms of the ongoing Apex Legends battle royale, fans are questioning the future of the release. Although helmed by Respawn Entertainment which birthed Titanfall & Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, many believe that the online experience is falling thanks to Electronic Arts involvement. This is suggested with major leadership departing or moving to other major projects within Electronic Arts itself.
As for the current state of the game, fans are sitting in Season 11 with little changes added since the content flow began for the season. Despite Titanfall 2’s Ash being added, the most that’s been included is a plethora of cosmetics and a new Arenas map, Habitat that came with the currently operating Dark Depths Event.
But looking ahead, mayhem is doubling down with Mad Maggie being the next Legend for the Apex Games. The counterpart of Season 8’s Fuse makes a huge impression with her reveal earlier this week. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
From an update on Thursday, Respawn Entertainment shares that ‘Season 12 – Defiance’ is arriving next month on February 8th. What comes with it is a relocated Olypus for battle royale and a new game mode, Control. “For the first 3 weeks of Defiance, see whether you can handle the madness in the new Control mode. Select your loadout and drop in to a 9v9 experience where teams battle to hold control points with infinite respawn,” says the description for the mode.
As for upcoming Respawn projects, Electronic Arts has confirmed this week that the team is now involved with three Star Wars games. In that, a sequel for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is being developed alongside a Star Wars first-person shooter & Star Wars strategy game is in the pipeline as well.
