When treading into the latest Apex Legends season – Eclipse, fans are certainly looking for more leeway to continue returning to the battle royale. While the newest update featured Legend Catalyst; the first Legend to counter many of the growing Recon abilities in the game alongside new locale Broken Moon, the game still remains fairly vanilla.

However, some of this changed with this past holiday season. The Winteride Event dropped re-introducing the Winter Express game mode to World’s Edge alongside featuring some festive cosmetic items to expand your appearance for select characters and weapons. Now in the new year, 2023 is to continue bringing more content to the game.

In a new announcement on Wednesday, Apex Legends will open the door to the ‘Spellbound Collection Event’. With that comes the return of fan-favorite Control once more and the addition of Seer’s own heirloom, Showstoppers. The event will take place from January 10th to January 24th. One interesting mention is private matches are coming in the update next week. “Want to host your own tournaments? Private matches are now available for all players. Get ready to generate your own tournament codes and host custom private matches,” the blog post reveals. More details are to surface in a future FAQ in the next batch of patch notes.

Regarding other Respawn Entertainment projects, its second Star Wars game ‘Jedi: Survivor’ is not too far from releasing. At The Game Awards, it was revealed the follow-up starring Cal Cestis is set to ship in March 2023. You can read the full report by heading here.
