fortnite apple

There had been a lengthy court battle between Epic Games and Apple about bringing Fortnite back to iOS devices in the United States. For almost 5 years users haven’t been able to play the battle royale on their iPhones or iPads.

It was only two weeks ago when Epic Games finally won the court battle against Apple, which would mean Fortnite was coming back to iOS devices.

This morning on X (Twitter), Epic Games posted on the official Fortnite account stating that “Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission so we cannot release to the US App Store or to the Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union.”

They continue to say, “Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.”

The reasoning behind this, especially for the block of the Epic Games Store in the EU has not been shared yet by either Epic Games or Apple.

Fortnite was removed from the Apple App Store in August 2020 and at the time it had been removed from the Google Play Store. This has been an ongoing battle since the start of the decade and hopefully soon there will be a resolution.
