Assassin’s Creed Codename Red Aims For Release In The Coming Fiscal Year, Says Earnings Report

The planned roadmap of releases for Ubisoft remains well organized – and that’s just on the topic of Assassin’s Creed alone. Last year, the publisher launched both Assassin’s Creed Mirage & Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. Of course, this is not where the trail ends with a surplus of additional titles are also in the pipeline internally as well.

One being the trio of codenamed projects: Codename Red, Codename Jade, and Codename Hexe. In one development, it was confirmed that the Ancient China mobile game was renamed to Assassin’s Creed: Jade. Additionally, it is also confirmed that Ubisoft working with Netflix is planning to ship an Assassin’s Creed title on its Netflix Gaming platform.

From the publisher’s recent FY24 Q3 earnings report, it is confirmed that the coming fiscal year is planned to feature at least one Assassin’s Creed title by March 31 next spring – Codename Red.

Moving forward, we’re gearing up for a very promising line-up for fiscal year 2025, including the upcoming release of Star Wars Outlaws in 2024, which should be a major milestone in the video game industry, especially given the undeniable appeal of this legendary franchise that will be coming for the first time to the Open World territory, as well as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, set in the long-awaited feudal Japan universe. We look forward to revealing the full extent of the creative capabilities of Ubisoft’s teams, who are working hard to make these games a success that will live up to gamers’ expectations.

Furthermore, Ubisoft also addresses other major entries planned to launch in this new annual window. One major project is Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws. Revealed this past June, the title is a collaborative project with Lucasfilm Games that stretches the Star Wars license to other studios. It is currently aimed to ship sometime in 2024.

XDefiant, its live-service Call of Duty competitor, is also planned to launch later on this year as well. Similar to the other projects, it has no scheduled release date as of yet. But, it does entertain that the established cloud streaming agreement with Activision/Microsoft will also open up to other opportunities as more partnerships are said to be pursued.
