Battle Royale as a genre has emerged greatly within the past year with titles like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite as the two are the most prevalent for the online mode. This bringing in other titles in the industry to introduce their own version of the game type that stands out compared to the competition; most recently with Black Ops 4 Blackout Mode.
This year Swedish studio DICE has revealed that this year’s Battlefield V will include its own take on the battle royale genre which was later announced as Firestorm. As it was already known that we wouldn’t be seeing the mode at launch this November, it was revealed that Firestorm will be coming as soon as Spring of next year around March.
Other information that was mentioned from the reveal is the Tides of War online events that will take place not too long after the game launches in mid-November. New maps will be included along with a practice range and a single player story mission for the game’s campaign.
Following after with the second installment/chapter will bring the 32-player squad conquest mode and an online cooperative mode called Combined Arms. For the adjacent chapter later past March is when we can expect to see the Firestorm battle royale mode on the game’s servers.
Battlefield V will be available this November 20, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
