While many believe that the PlayStation 2 era of titles continues to resonate the most nostalgic upon reflecting two decades ago now, many, to some degree, disagree with that belief. Easily, many eye the Dreamcast solely for Jet Set Radio. And while only a second installment followed with Jet Set Radio Future on the original Xbox in 2002, there has yet to be a devoted follow-up to the series.
But despite fans still moaning for a new game, developer Team Reptile is taking the torch by force with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Holding fairly identical characteristics to the Sega franchise, the new project will be the definitive successor many hardcore fans grew up waiting to play. Announced back in July 2020, Team Reptile on issued a teaser trailer for the game.
That was until the game studio uploaded the full official trailer for the game. You can watch the complete Bomb Rush Cyberfunk trailer in the video below:
Most notably about Bomb Rush Cyberfunk happened to be the supported platforms for the coming title. Upon its initial announcement more than half a year ago, PC was only referenced to receive the game. Now, Team Reptile writes as such: “We aim to release the game on all relevant platforms”. Additionally, the game is now being shelved to a 2022 release date instead of this year.
In terms of the music confirmed for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk already, we now have two verified tracks that are being composed by Jet Set Radio composer, Hideki Naganuma. In that, the latest trailer reveals “Get Enuf” which is evidently played in the released footage. Naganuma on Twitter comments that the score heard in the original teaser is dubbed “Jack Da Funk”. Another song, “Spectres” by Reso is teased in the trailer, but is not played.
