While Gearbox Software is currently finishing up on its second Season Pass for Borderlands 3, the developer also faces new ownership in the midst of the operation. In that, THQ Nordic parent company Embracer Group announced to welcome the team as its seventh subsidiary studio. The firm later clarified that the deal will not interfere with new Borderlands content between the team and publisher 2K.

As part of the concluding piece of content for Season Pass 2, Gearbox Software unveiled Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut DLC expansion. Even more, the content drop is told to arrive by mid March to be more exact. However, the developer has run into unexpected hurdles and asks for more time to refine some of the rough edges for the add-on.

In that, the team following the recent weather tragedies in Texas has announced to be pushing the Director’s Cut to April 8 later in the coming weeks. You can read the full announcement below:

“Due to challenges arising from severe weather that impacted Texas last month, the Director’s Cut add-on will now launch on April 8,” Gearbox writes in the statement. “Thankfully, all of our team members and their families are safe and healthy, but our work on Director’s Cut was unavoidably disrupted and we’ve ultimately decided to shift the release date to ensure we deliver the best possible experience.”

Upon other namely announcements regarding Borderlands, the adapted motion picture has made some major additions to its casting. In that, Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers Infinity War) will play Tiny Tina, Jamie Lee Curtis (Knives Out) to take the role of Dr. Jannis, and Florian Munteanu (Creed II) to play as psycho king, Krieg.
