
Although an established IP, Borderlands release plans is fairly spaced out. With three major installments and a few spin-offs, when Gearbox Software decides to ship the next game is always in the air. So to learn that a new game was in the works did surprise many. Even more when CEO Randy Pitchford did acknowledge that an announcement would come soon, he last February.
Then at Gamescom this past August, Borderlands 4 was officially on the way. And with a small window to its release aiming for 2025, players are excited to see when they can get their hands on the new game and see more of it. One update from the developer is that it will be adjusting its comedic approach to the game. Namely, there will be no Skibidi Toilet, the studio confirmed in an exchange on X previously.
At the PlayStation State of Play, Gearbox Software & 2K revealed Borderlands 4 will officially arrive this September. There will also be a dedicated State of Play coming this spring as well. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
