Bungie Reveals Last Chapter For Destiny 2 ‘The Final Shape’, Destiny Showcase Coming August 22

Earlier this year, Bungie officially met the end of its three expansion roadmap with the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall. And with the newest installment, it was no surprise the amount of traction that came to the game. It was soon discovered that Lightfall welcomed a new record high player count for Destiny 2 on Steam earlier on this year.

Looking ahead, Bungie is still adamant to support Destiny 2. This week, Season of the Deep launched adding new PlayStation cosmetics from PlayStations Studios titles and a fishing mechanic. Additionally, transmedia is piecing together well with a former Warner Bros. Discovery executive part of the operation now, LinkedIn revealed.

At the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, Bungie revealed its last major expansion on the way for Destiny 2: The Final Shape. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:

Not only do we learn more content is on the way for Destiny 2, but also that a new Destiny Showcase is coming later this summer. “The final chapter of the Light & Darkness Saga is coming. For more, tune in to Bungie’s Destiny Showcase event, arriving on August 22,” the YouTube description reads for the teaser trailer.

Elsewhere during the PlayStation Showcase, Bungie also revealed Marathon. The new experience is a fresh interpretation of the 1994 Macintosh classic now posed as a PvP extraction shooter coming to Xbox & PC as well PlayStation. You can read the full report by heading here.
