Campaign Mode Could Return In Upcoming Call Of Duty

Treyarch’s latest title in the Call of Duty franchise Black Ops 4, was the first in the entirety of Call of Duty to drop the single player campaign which in one way threw players off by surprise and at the same time made a predictable move seeing the direction the game series is going. With Infinity Ward currently working on the next title, the California-based studio might keep this from becoming a pattern with 2019’s succeeding title.

Previously it was teased that the upcoming title could have Call of Duty return to the Modern Warfare series, and now it seems that the game might have campaign mode return as well. According to Dexerto, the videogame website discovered that a job listing for the next title by Infinity Ward has a requirement asking for “broad understanding of both multiplayer and single player game design”.

Among the ‘Associate Game Designer’ position, there is also another listing for a ‘Senior Gameplay Animator’ as well. Which makes this worth focusing on is that the application asks to “set a new bar for 3rd person player animation in a shooter.” Which makes this more intriguing is the specific requirement asked for a strictly first-person title.

Other noteworthy discoveries from both job listings is that the referenced game is categorized as a “next gen title”. This only leaves the implication that the developer might have knowledge on the upcoming hardware from either Microsoft or Sony, or possibly even both.

This year’s unnamed Call of Duty title currently does not have a release date as of right now.
