The Mortal Kombat franchise already has attempted to migrate from the living room to the big screen back in the mid-90s with two films under Warner Bros’ New Line Cinema, but ultimately resulted in being distasteful to those who were fans of the video game series before the adapted duology of motion pictures. However, the company looks to take another jab at the series with a new film adaptation which is promised to hold close to the franchise’s core elements.

Now recently it was revealed that more actors for the forthcoming movie have been casted alongside the already picked Jos Taslim who will be portraying Sub Zero. The Hollywood Reporter has shared that Power Rangers (2017) Ludi Lin will play Liu Kang, Supergirl’s Mehcad Brooks casted for Jax, and Sisi Stringer to debut as Mileena.

The entertainment outlet has also revealed that Tadanobu Asano of Thor Raganork is currently being negotiated to take the role as thunder God Raiden: which if becoming a reality once fully accepted for the role would be a major addition to the film’s cast.

Director Greg Russo already has a filled plate regarding the upcoming Mortal Kombat film, but along with the fighting adapted movie, New Line Cinema has also chosen Russo to work on creating yet another video game film surrounding the classic cabinet title Space Invaders. Safehouse Pictures, Weed Road Pictures, and Tory Tunnel have already be confirmed to produce the upcoming picture.

Currently, there is no slated release window for Mortal Kombat to hit the box office as of writing this.
