Codemasters Delays Dirt 5 Again, Now Landing On November 6th

Stretching all the way back to mid May of this year, developer Codemasters announced that the next Dirt installment, Dirt 5, would be arriving sometime in October of this year. With a very ambitious racing simulator to project the possibilities of next-generation consoles, it was not presumed to be overly ambitious to ship the game ahead of the aforementioned systems. Howbeit, time revealed to say otherwise.

In that, the firm later on in August announced that the approaching entry for the series would be shifting its release date from the initially-slated October 9 to a more comfortable October 16 to level out some of the rougher edges still lingering at the time. But it seems that still was not enough as the firm announces that more is still required to apply the finishing touches.

On Twitter this week, Codemasters posted a new letterhead disclosing that Dirt 5 will now be releasing the first week of November to smoother out the dinks for the approaching title.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for your support and excitement around Dirt 5, ever since its reveal back in May,” the image reads. “The positive feedback we’re received from hands-on preview sessions has blown us away, too. The start line is now a little further away, but it’s still very much in sight.”

While the game is now arriving a full month following the first scheduled release date, Codemasters discloses that its ambitions to ship the game on the following Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 is left unchanged. The same can also be said for the version arriving to Google’s Stadia streaming platform later on in 2021.

What platform are you planning to pick up Dirt 5 for?

Dirt 5 is arriving to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 6, 2020; listed for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
