Control: Ultimate Edition Gets Nintendo Switch Release With New Cloud Version

Share Everywhere!

When glancing at the possibilities of what can be achieved on Nintendo Switch, it is outstanding to see teams like PlatinumGames deliver Astral Chain or Saber Interactive with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the system. While the unit is regarded as a next-generation console, the hardware is lacking in bringing very demanding titles to the Nintendo eShop.

However, there are times where the impossible does look to be discarded. That instance is now as Nintendo and Remedy Entertainment announced Control will be launching on Nintendo Switch. Even more, players can find the game with all of its content available with the Ultimate Edition being processed.

You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

Most interesting about the announcement is the subtitle for the game – Cloud Version. From the subtext displayed throughout the trailer, you will read “footage representative of visual quality under optimal conditions. Persistent high-speed internet connection required.” For those that might not understand, the game is being streamed to the device via the cloud which allows the game to properly run.

Alongside with the game out now, there is also a demo that players can sample to see how the title performs on Nintendo Switch. It is learned that there are two modes to play on: graphic and performance. The first offers 30 frames per second with fragments of raytracing found. The latter offers a higher performance output closer to 60 frames per second.

The Ultimate Edition for Control following its announcement was left with some controversy. It was suggested that only owners of that version will receive a free next-gen upgrade. But Remedy Entertainment clarified that not to be the case. You can read the full report by heading here.

Do you think Control is suited well for Nintendo Switch?

Control is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch; listed for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
