
Although the Nintendo Wii U during its up and coming roughly a decade ago at this point focused on entertainment for the living room – a marketing standpoint that even Microsoft strived for, evidently – the Nintendo Switch is very clearly avoiding making the same mistake twice. Although there are some apps already available on the platform like Hulu and InkyPen.
More recently, we saw other popular services arrive to Nintendo Switch. On being Sony Pictures’ own Funimation delivering a repertoire of anime entertainment to the platform. Additionally, Nintendo Switch also went on to welcome Amazon’s Twitch live streaming platform as well which surely took its time to arrive to the handheld hybrid platform.
This week, Crunchyroll announced a dedicated app is finally launching for Nintendo Switch. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“There’s officially a brand new way to watch Crunchyroll, and it’s right in the palm of your hands. The Crunchyroll app is now available on Nintendo Switch, so you can stream all of your favorite anime on TV while your console is docked, or on the go with handheld and tabletop modes,” the firm says. “Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan subscribers will be able to enjoy offline viewing, as well, allowing for the same off-network anime access available through mobile devices.”
Previously, Crunchyroll made an arrangement with Microsoft to offer its Premium tier subscription at no additional cost for newcomers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate through a timed promotion. You can read the full report by heading here.
