This past E3 in June 2019 surely left quite the impression when developer Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the reboot Tomb Raider trilogy, revealed the long-time teased Marvel’s Avengers title. Initially, the internet blew up when witnessing the prologue demo of the game whilst being fed with further detail surrounding the game including open-world, co-op gameplay, and this new journey for the notorious Marvel comic strip.
However, fans also had their disagreements with the game: that being the game not offering much variety or freedoms when playing after rewatching the initial demo. Granted, the footage provided shows to be introductory segment of the game, which typically opens the title with tutorials for players to get a grasp of the controls. But when the team announced to tweak the demo for a future showing, there was still little to no difference.
Now in 2020, Crystal Dynamics made an update post earlier today sharing that the team will be requiring more time to meet the expectations that the fans have paved for the upcoming title. “[…] we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Marvel’s Avengers to September 4, 2020.”
As fans ourselves, it’s an honor and a privilege to work with these legendary characters and we know what these Super Heroes mean to us and True Believers around the world. When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.

Thankfully Crystal Dynamics have listened to the following for their upcoming project to ensure maximum satisfaction for those planning on picking up the game later this year. With the addition of Eidos Montreal’s involvement with the game’s development, it is understandable that additional development time is essential to achieve the vision the team’s encaptured alongside what suits the consumer as well.
In other news related to Marvel’s Avengers, Crystal Dynamic revealed that Kamala Khan will be making an appearance in the upcoming project back in October during New York Comic-Com. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you fine with the developer taking the extra time to better the game’s outcome?
