In the current age if video games, the medium continues to influence so much it bleeds into other entertainment alternatives. Primarily, many glance over to film or television for the next break for video games to branch over to as releases like Sonic the Hedgehog & the more recent Mortal Kombat echoes across the internet. But, print is still thriving as well with the medium.
Of course, franchises like Halo diversifies its storyline and lore with complete books & graphic novels that outnumber the amount of games playable since its inception. Comic lines are also a primary source for fans to continue their support for their beloved franchises. Most recently, Dark Horse Comics in partnership with Respawn Entertainment is creating a four-piece series set in the Apex Legends universe as issue one released this week.
However, now Dark Horse Comics is looking to advance into games as well. In a new announcement on Wednesday, the firm unveiled the founding for Dark Horse Games.
We’ve spent the past thirty-five years developing a long list of original, fan-favorite IP with many of the best partners in digital entertainment. Now is the perfect time to expand our vision into gaming. Dark Horse Games gives us exciting new ways to engage with fans of all kinds on a multitude of platforms.

This is not the first instance a comic book manufacturer entered the video game industry. Already, entities like Marvel Games is a prime example. The most notable, however, is Skybound Games: after the fallout of Telltale Games, the firm reorganized majority of the developer’s staff to continue the remnants for The Walking Dead: The Final Season at the time.
Additionally, Dark Horse Comics is also orchestrating a new line for Ubisoft’s Far Cry. Scheduled to ship issue one back in May, the project is to feature all the antagonist of all modern Far Cry games leading to the upcoming Far Cry 6. You can read the full report by heading here.
