The legacy that developer Visceral Games imbedded in the Xbox 360 console era with Dead Space remains to be a staple in the overall industry more than a decade later. While the original talent behind the IP is now working on a spiritual successor with The Callisto Protocol, Dead Space is making a comeback in the coming year. At EA Play Live last year, Dead Space Remake was officially unveiled.
More interesting is that the game is a true next-generation release for Xbox Series & PlayStation 5 machines. Surprising enough is that when the game was finally processed, the anticipation swelled even greater than the new Skate project from Full Circle, says Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson. In a later statement, it was told that Dead Space is slated for an early 2023 release next year.
Now on Thursday, Electronic Arts & EA Motive share the Dead Space remake is set to ship in late January at the start of 2023. The team also hosted a new livestream featuring the efforts went into capturing the atmosphere for the reimagined game. You can watch the livestream in the video below:
“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves. It’s been equally exciting to see players’ reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us,” says Dead Space remake Senior Producer Phillippe Ducharme.
“We’re making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and we’re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year. We can’t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we’ve elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation.”
In a recent financial report from Electronic Arts, the publisher featured four titles slated for Q4 bleeding into 2023. It appears that the ‘Remake’ listed is to be EA Motive’s Dead Space afterall. You can read the full report by heading here.
