Next week will mark the first full month since the official debut of xCloud. While the service is only unique to users that own an Android –powered device, the cloud-based initiative is far from over in terms of new additions and reiterations. Elements such as touch screen controls barely broke the surface as Minecraft Dungeons is the only title compatible for the support.
Howbeit, there are more projects that are under wraps at Microsoft the firm is working to bring to the commercial version of xCloud. One being game demos: rather than traditionally downloading the demo – essentially a portion of the full game – players can instead test their taste buds via cloud streaming.
The information came from Xbox head Phil Spencer who spared the news on Twitter in response to a question. To elaborate further, he clarifies that the new ambition will be executed for console and PC for Xbox Game Pass titles.
Yes, we want to do this. It's in the long list of cool things the xCloud team is working on, just a bit further down the list. But we want console and PC players to be able to browse as easily as mobile players, it's a good gamepass feature.

Internally, we have already witnessed Microsoft implement the ability to utilize hardware via xCloud with the service and more specifically, developer kits. In July, Microsoft disclosed that its efforts to integrate xCloud into regularity within the firm would be through dev kits when leading forward. Studios like Infinity Ward, Eidos-Montreal, and Playground Games are said to already be doing this.
Additionally, Spencer in his tweet also reiterates on the introduction of xCloud to PC. The Verge previously this year offered a glimpse of the PC version for the service which only could be accessed by Microsoft employees at the time. But leading ahead, the initiative is expected to be properly injected into the platform alongside a possible console version down the line following the recent statement.
What do you think about cloud streaming demos?
