Despite The Downfall Of Concord, Amazon Is To Keep The Episode For TV Series Secret Level

While PlayStation is basking in the glowing response to Astro Bot which released this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment is still recouping from one of the biggest outliers of 2024 – Concord. Roughly two weeks since the release of the new hero shooter, the PlayStation firm decided to pull the plug on the IP altogether as of September 6th.

From our review of the game, Rectify Gaming understood Concord could bounce back in its post-launch plans to gain an audience. “With continued post-launch support, balancing updates, and a commitment to addressing player feedback, Concord could potentially grow into a respectable entry in the team-based FPS genre,” we wrote.

The biggest question that still remains is how Secret Level will handle this news. Understanding that Sony Interactive Entertainment was forecasting Concord to be a commercial success, it established an entire episode dedicated to the universe in the upcoming Amazon Prime series. But now it is unsure if it will remain or be removed now with the current circumstance.

According to IGN, sources involved in the production confirms that Concord is to remain in the TV series following the announcement of the game shutting down. The live-action show is a constructed anthology of titles celebrating video games from multiple IPs including Armored Core, Mega Man, God of War, and Unreal Tournament.

The impact of Concord still remains leaving a impression on the industry as well as PlayStation itself. Investing roughly over $100 million into a commercial failure will certainly have the firm revise its live-service approach moving forward. And although Fairgame$ is being received well internally thus far, it is unsure if that is enough when Concord was in the same boat as well.
