Dating back to this past November, developer Dontnod Entertainment announced that its next major project in collaboration with Microsoft is coming the following year with the reveal of Tell Me Why. The next story-drive experience illustrates the journey of reunited twins Tyler and Alyson. With their new bond together, the two hone a spiritual power that they can use in efforts to uncover the truth of their mother’s death.
During today’s Xbox Games Showcase, Dontnod Entertainment has returned to announce that the new title will officially kick off in late August with Chapter One in the final stretch of development. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“In this intimate mystery, reunited twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their supernatural bond to unravel the mysteries of their loving but troubled childhood,” the synopsis for the game reads on the Microsoft Store. “Set in beautiful small-town Alaska, Tell Me Why features true-to-life characters, mature themes and gripping choices. As you conjure up memories of the past, your choices will affect the twins’ relationship, determine the strength of their bond, and shape the course of their lives.”
In addition to its Xbox One and PC release, Microsoft also disclosed that Tell Me Why will also be coming to Xbox Series X. However, the firm nor Dontnod Entertainment elaborates further on the announcement if there will be a version available for the new system at launch or simply an upgrade iteration from Xbox One.
Elsewhere earlier this year, Dontnod Entertainment announced to be opening its second, titular studio in Montreal, Canada. You can read the full announcement by heading here.
