Doom: The Dark Ages was one of the featured games at the Xbox Developer Direct last week. It had already been known the Doom prequel from id Software will come to Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, it has been questioned whether it will come to the Nintendo Switch 2.
According to well-known leaker, eXtas1s, Doom: The Dark Ages will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The insider claims that Nintendo is not allowing developers to say “This game is coming to Switch 2” yet.
"The game, which is in full development for the next-generation machine, is being deliberately withheld. Nintendo has not given the green light to all its partners to present their titles, especially those that would be exclusive to the Switch 2."
Many believed since the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed developers and publishers can start saying their games will be coming to the console. However, it does seem for the bigger AAA games they may want to wait until the Switch 2 Direct in April.
Doom: The Dark Ages is planned to release on May 15, 2025, which could be before the release of the Switch 2. It wouldn’t be surprising to see id Software’s game featured on the console. Since Doom Eternal and Doom (2016) made their way on the current Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft and Bethesda have not commented on whether the newest Doom will come to the Nintendo Switch 2. It does seem Phil Spencer is open to bringing any Xbox title to other consoles including Doom, Halo, Starfield, and others.
