Early Access Launch For Second Extinction On PC Now Arriving A Month Later In Mid October

Dating back to May already, developer Systemic Reaction announced that a new and exciting dinosaur shooter will be hitting Xbox family consoles alongside PC in the coming future. That being Second Extinction, the game takes place on an unrecognizable Earth where the creatures before the planet’s Ice Age reappear and humans are faced with the brink of genocide for mankind with new predators on the planet’s surface.

While it was undisclosed at the time as for when the game will officially arrive, Systemic Reaction disclosed there would be a Early Access release for the title scheduled for September. When speaking with IGN, the team’s Product Owner offered that the premature playtest will be operated through “community-driven” based on performance of the players and to be balanced on a weekly schedule.

Well now, it looks the Early Access release is arriving later than scheduled as the firm now reveals Second Extinction will be releasing next month in October. You can watch the latest trailer dispatching the news in the video below:

As you can gather from the trailer, Systemic Reaction has collaborated with prolific artist Tom Dubois who is most familiar for his work on illustrating the box art for Castlevania and Contra during the early age of gaming. And in a similar manner for other titles, Dubois creates the cover art for Second Extinction in anticipation for the arriving Early Access release for PC.

Although the announcement is unique to PC currently, it should not be too long of a wait before the game also receives a respected release on console. Taken that the time period between PC and console will be some time, we might see the Xbox Preview version for Second extinction hit both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/Series S simultaneously.

Are you planning on picking up the Early Access version of Second Extinction?

Second Extinction will be arriving to PC via Early Access for $24.99 on October 13, 2020.
