Update:

In a new tweet made recently, Electronic Arts shares to be postponing this coming EA Play Live to a later date in support of the protest in response to the death of George Floyd of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The publisher tells to use the opportunity to amplify protestor voices in a time where it is much needed.

“With important conversations taking place and important voices being heard around the world right now, we’re moving our time to come together to play,” the letterhead reads. Now, EA Play Live 2020 will commence on June 18 at 4PM PST / 7 PM EST.

Upon what fans could expect to be showcased at the now pushed event, it was revealed this week that developer Criterion Games will have some details to spare. According to the British studio, more announcements for the Need for Speed series are scheduled to take place later on next week.

Now entering May, we should all be familiar with the news that broke previously back in March as organizers for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that the annual show will not be taking place this coming June since swelling tensions from COVID-19 has overtaken any chances for public gatherings for the coming months. However, this has brought a myriad of different responses from participating companies and the industry as a whole.

Publisher Bethesda for instance announced to be withholding this year’s E3 Showcase slated for June and discards the idea of a digital showcase as well. However, outlets such as IGN has announced its own presentation for that timeframe with the Summer of Gaming event to feature firms like Bandai Namco & Square Enix and present new upcoming titles like CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.

Now publisher Electronic Arts is the next to be revealing a new livestreamed show for this coming June. The company disloses that the annual EA Play Live will be commencing later his June in an announcement on Twitter.

Although enticing to see Electronic Arts will be present in digital presentations, this happens to be one of the expected announcement for this coming June. Noted from last year, the publisher announced to be abandoning press conferences in favor for online presentations instead regarding the annual EA Play showcase held in Los Angeles.

Regarding what will be featured at this year’s show is the expected lineup of yearly sports simulators and other whispered titles as well. One being the approaching Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond title from Respawn Entertainment which will be releasing exclusively on the Oculus Store later in 2020. Another expected announcement would also be another independently-developed project from the EA Originals initiative.

In other recent Electronic Arts news, the company alongside Google announced that the two will be collaborating in bringing games to Stadia. Titles like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, FIFA, and Madden are expected to arrive later on. You can read the full announcement by heading here.
