
Battle royale giant Fortnite has already broken the walls down by conjoining popular franchises with the current Epic Games’ title this Spring coinciding with the box office release of Avengers: End Game. But fans did expect the event to arrive seeing that the film’s antagonist Thanos was already in the game the year prior. However, those who play regularly might not have predicted the chaos that would arrive to the game’s always changing map.
In an abrupt reveal, Epic Games has announced that the a new zone has spawned on the map which rifts between the game to Borderlands’ Pandora when stepping through the barrier. Once entering the overrun wasteland, players can fight towards new challenges themed to the crossover which will reward players with free items.
Alongside the sudden change of scenery, Epic Games aslo shared that Borderlands’ Claptrap accompanied by the game’s billboard Psycho will be available in the game’s Item Shop. Doing so will paint the player as the Pandora inhabitant while the punny robot backpacks with you as you play.
The timed event also introduces a new camera filter for players to capture their time in Pandora along with rusted weapon skins and other decorated items. The event debuts today, August 27, and will be live until September 10th.
Fortnite is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
