For those that recall in a report last December, claims surfaced indicating some of Nintendo’s legacy properties are on the way for Nintendo Switch. In that, Metroid Prime & F-Zero are on the way for the platform in 2023. So far, this has been true with Metroid Prime Remastered which shipped back in winter this year. However, the same has not manifested for the latter.
In fact, there has been continuous rumors poking at the series making a comeback, but little has proven to be true as time told. Howbeit, things appear to be different come this most recent Nintendo Direct on Thursday. According to @Pyoro_X on X, the user told a new F-Zero game is coming to Nintendo Switch during the online presentation.
And, it finally happened F-Zero is finally back. In a new shadowdrop today, F-Zero 99 is coming to all Nintendo Switch Online users. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“The F-ZERO game returns as a 99-player battle royale! Race on classic F-ZERO courses with machines from the original Super NES game and tear through courses in high-speed races. But be careful, your Power Meter will decrease if you crash into pilots or guard rails. If it hits zero, you’re out!” the description of the trailer reads on YouTube.
Additionally, this fall does have an update on another online NSO title. In that, the ongoing Pac-Man 99 is to shutter its servers next month this October. You can read the full report by heading here.
