Deprived from the launch of Nintendo Switch Online, those who pay for the service will instantly be provided with a library of classic titles from the Nintendo Entertainment System to play at your disposal until it is time to renew your subscription. That we already know; however, it seems that more is planned for those who have been anticipating for an additional library to be included with the online service.
According to a recent filing through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), there is a new controller coming to the current Nintendo Switch that holds a resemblance to the controller for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. ResetEra user Link83 posted the filing and detailed that the image is referring to the Switch through the ‘HAC’ model number is associated with the handheld console and other accessories in relevancy.
Furthermore, the user shares that despite the images can be easily found through the filing, the images are set to be confidential until sometime next year in 2020. Coming close to the one year mark since the launch of Nintendo Switch Online next month in September, this could possibly foreshadow the addition of the SNES library for online subscribers.
Already, there are traces of the succeeding NES console as users have previously discovered a list of titles from that platform on the source files for the NES app: listing titles Yoshi’s Island, Kirby Super Star, and Star Fox.
This will now be the second finding through the FCC regarding Nintendo as fans have discovered the upgraded base model for the Switch which revealed that the CPU and storage chips will be swapped for more modern tech.
Do you think Nintendo is planning to release the SNES library for Nintendo Switch Online?
