Franchise Producer For Persona Kazuhisa Wada Teases “Exciting Plans” In Line For Series’ 25th Anniversary Next Year

In discussion of what is underway for the Persona series, many are truly unsure of what is arriving officially. Granted, the trailer for Persona 5 Strikers just leaked which revealed the game is hitting the west finally later this February, but genuine plans for the coming future of the franchise is still undetermined. Given that the western release of the warriors-like title was inevitable, many fans are hungry to learn about more details on remasters or new entries.

As of late, Japanese developer Atlus just shipped Persona 5 Royal which arrived earlier on in October 2019 in Japan followed by a March debut for the west. But as to what will trail behind that is still unknown. However, things do look to possibly materialize for the series with the 25th anniversary for Persona landing in 2021.

That was assumed to be the case for the special occasion, but now, Atlus is properly preparing to take the opportunity. During the recently held PlayStation Awards 20202 Japan Asia show, Persona 5 Royal received the “Partner Award”. And to thank for winning the nomination, series Producer Kazuhisa Wada disclosed 2021 is to be an energetic year for the property.

As next year is the 25th anniversary of the Persona series, we have many exciting plans which we hope you will all enjoy.

For what is entailed to come from the Persona 25th anniversary, the only project currently is Persona 5 Strikers in the west. Although it is not the only release from Atlus with both Shin Migami Tensei V and Shin Migami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remastered, there is no forecast to clear the fog on the coming Persona news. But there is speculation, of course.

For one, there is the chance an influx of Persona titles will be distributed for PC over the course of the next year. Sega has been vocal to releasing not only Persona, but the plentiful library of Atlus-developed games to the PC after the glowing success of Persona 4 Golden on Steam. Already we see that with Persona 5 Strikers debuting in the west on PC as well.

What are you hopeful to see come from the Persona series in 2021?
