
Amid the collection of newly announced titles that are coming out of this year’s Gamescom, developer Infinity Ward still made an appearance at the first annual Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation with some multiplayer news for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title.
Announcing that a exclusive Alpha playtest will be going live later this week for fans interested to get an early hands on with the game just weeks before the upcoming beta is scheduled to arrive for PlayStation 4 first later in September.
The coming Alpha is shared to be going up for Sony’s PlayStation 4 this Friday on August 22nd for players to test the waters with the 2v2 Gunfight game mode which debuted the multiplayer portion for the October scheduled title. The online test will run through this weekend until the following Sunday, August 25th.
Infinity Ward has shared that the Alpha will not be coming to Xbox One or PC this weekend despite the upcoming beta that will support all platforms. However, in a previous announcement, the developer has disclosed that when the beta full operates on all systems that the September-slated beta will feature cross platform play against users on different hardware.
