It looks that the false alarm yesterday following the announcement of Humankind overshadowing the potential of Yakuza 3 Remastered being announced was a miss call: as today Sega revealed that the 2010 title is available now with an updated resolution and framerate performance through the Yakuza Remastered Collection.

You read that right on ‘collection,’ as Sega has not only planned to release the third installment in the series, but also plans to do the same for the fourth and fifth as well. Sharing that 2011’s Yakuza 4 and 2012’s Yakuza 5 will be coming to PlayStation 4 with the same makeover 3 received today.

However, it should be noted that these are simply a remastered versions of the initial PlayStation 3 titles. Meaning that the game is only upgraded and not remade like the Kiwami series that applies to Yakuza 1 & Yakuza 2.

Developer Rya Ga Gotoku revealed that Yakuza 4 will be arriving for the collection on October 29th and following with Yakuza 5’s addition next year on February 11th. Releasing on the same day, Sega has announced that a physical version of the Yakuza Remastered Collection will be available for those who prefer the discs rather than digitally downloading.

The Day One Edition includes a ‘2-disc Digipack’ which provides Yakuza 3 & 4 on one disc while Yakuza 5 sits on the second, a specialized red steelbook case, and a game case of Yakuza 5 for PlayStation 4.

During yesterday’s Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation, Sega revealed a new partnered title with Amplitude Studios with the introduction of real-time strategy Humankind.

Yakuza 3 is available now through the yakuza Remastered Collection for PlayStation 4 with the following two installments to release on October 29, 2019 and February 11, 2020.
