When PlayStation 4 owners look at Ghost of Tsushima – or really most platform unique titles on Sony’s console – the games are noted for the well-told and orchestrated single player experiences from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s network of first-party teams. Howbeit, multiplayer especially has not been a emphasis from the studios responsible throughout this generation.
Series like Killzone has not taken an entry since the beginning of this console cycle and even Naughty Dog abandoning online play altogether with the latest June-scheduled project, The Last of Us Part II. But developer Sucker Punch Production changed the momentum when announcing multiplayer for Ghost of Tsushima back in August.
Now in a new update blog post on Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the development team unveils that online integration for the exclusive title will be arriving later this month. As part of a new update scheduled to arrive later in the coming week, players can expect the complete multiplayer experience to be included.
“You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
Once you have version 1.1, you’ll notice a new character at various towns and locations in Tsushima… Gyozen the Storyteller,” Darren Bridges, Sucker Punch Productions Game Designer shares on how to initiate Legends. “He’s heard the rumors about the Ghost of Tsushima, but he has a different perspective about what’s actually happening in his homeland.
“Gyozen is the author and gatekeeper of the stories you’ll find in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and when you talk to him, he’ll be happy to share one of his transportative stories about the ‘Ghosts.’ Speaking to Gyozen will give you access to the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends lobby, but you can also get there directly from the title menu or the pause menu… or by accepting a PSN invitation from a friend!”
While reiterating on what was already shared for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends earlier this summer, Sucker Punch Productions also spares new additions for the single player portion of the game. Elements such as New Game+ and armor loadouts will be found after installing the update. Unique to New Game+ is the Ghost Flower Merchant who will trade ghost flowers in exchange for unique armor sets.
