While Ubisoft is already primed for this coming fall and more so for the turn of the soon approaching console generation, there are other properties still underway from the publisher. Disregarding the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion, titles like Gods & Monsters is on the horizon for a presumed 2021 release.
Most recently, the current Ubisoft Quebec project was reported to be available on Google-owned Stadia for a split moment before the firm delisted the game from its streaming platform. Elaborating more on the situation, it was told that Ubisoft Quebec still has plenty of work to do on the ancient Greece-set title: that includes a new name being established for the game.
In a finding today on Taiwan-based Gamerating.org, the official name for the project might have seeped through the cracks ahead of its official announcement. Transcribed by Gematsu, it is told that the new titling for Gods & Monsters will be ‘Immortals: Fenyx Rising’. The titling also suggests this will be the first of succeeding, stringing installments as well for the inaugural entry.
The rating for the upcoming title also corroborates with the currently listed versions: Xbox One; PlayStation 4; Nintendo Switch; PC. Only excluding the Stadia version of the game, this looks to be a tangible finding solidifying the title for the currently in development project. The titling also aligns with the coming game as the protagonist is also told to be named Fenyx during its announcement last year.
For more supporting evidence suggesting the new title for Gods & Monsters is authentic, one insider disclosed the discovery to be legitimate: that being from Niko Partners’ Analyst David Ahmad who simply tweeted “it is” when the new information first broke out earlier today. So take that as you will until properly dished by the publisher.
Reflecting on a previous financial report made by Ubisoft, it is speculated that Immortals: Fenyx Rising, then-Gods & Monsters, would be arriving in 2021. The publisher told that two games are insisted to arrive sometime in Q420, the last financial quarter of the fiscal year. The other being the July-announced Far Cry 6.
