Google Extends Stadia Support To Razer Phone, Samsung, ASUS

I don’t think it is necessary to discuss the internet anticipating the rocky launch of Google’s Stadia platform ahead of its November arrival. Already being aware of the lacking capabilities that many users felt unnecessary to acquire the service at launch, there were other features we learned before being available on store shelves. For instance, those who might have been eager to use the service on mobile devices could only do so via the Google Pixel 3 and its two upgraded iterations at launch.

This information alone deepened the hopes that Google might have been expecting seeing the vocal response from the inter webs of online. However, Google did not seize to support more devices as there are a bevy of new smart phones being added to the list outside of the Google brand.

Announced earlier this week, the Razer Phone, ASUS Phone, and line of Samsung mobile devices will be supported this Thursday. Here is the full list provided from Google:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy Note8
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note9
  • Samsung Galaxy S10
  • Samsung Galaxy S10E
  • Samsung Galaxy S10+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10+
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20+
  • Samsung Galaxy 20 Ultra
  • Razer Phone
  • Raver Phone 2
  • ASUS ROG Phone
  • ASUS ROG Phone II

Luckily for those with Android operating systems will be able to join the club. However, those on Apple products are still exempt from using Stadia as of yet. The same requirements still apply to these new devices: asking users to have at least Android M+ or higher to use the service on your respected device.

Unfortunately for iOS users, the complications continues to look to be derived from certain aspects of the App Store. Assumably, it is the same reason that it took so long for iOS users to be included with Microsoft’s Project xCloud initiative for mobile streaming.

Do you plan on tackling Stadia on your smart phone or is it still not compatible?

Stadia is out now for PC, mobile devices, and television.
