Hades to Receive iOS Release Via Netflix Next Year

Ever since the games announcement of Supergiant Games’ Hades back in 2018, players were entangled on the new top-down rogue-like, hack-and-slash. And upon its release, the title was an instant hit. By the time of The Game Awards during its release year in 2020, it was nominated for multiple awards; most notable being Game of the Year which is an achievement for a small developer.

And, the story continues with a sequel on the way. Previously in December last year during the annual Game Awards show, Hades II was announced. Collected from the reveal shares that this follow-up is to be everything that made Hades work as you play the new character, Princess of the Underworld Melinoe.

In a recent announcement at Netflix Geeked, it was confirmed that Hades is coming to mobile, namely iOS next year via Netflix. Noted, there is no mention on Android despite the service also supported via the Google Play Store aside from a statement from the team. “We appreciate the interest though we have no plans for additional versions of Hades at this time.”

Supergiant Games writes: “We’re excited to announce that our Game of the Year-winning roguelike dungeon crawler Hades is coming to iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad, courtesy of Netflix Games! Revealed today at Netflix’s Geeked Week ’23, this is a faithful translation of our game, featuring all the responsive action and surprises available on other platforms.”

The following FAQ goes on to elaborate on other aspects for the game coming to iOS via Netflix. All you need is a compatible iOS device and a standard subscription to Netflix! While signed in to the Netflix app on your device, simply navigate to the games row and look for Hades there! Then you can download the game and play all you like.” The studio also encourages running on a device with iOS 16 or greater.
