Last year it was officially revealed that the long awaited Halo television show was to kick off filming sometime in early 2019, but under certain circumstances the show faced some delay months before filming and resulted with former Director Rupert Wyatt to step down from the position.
Now fast forwarding to this week, in a tweet from Showtime; the network that the show will be hosted on, it was announced that the show based on Bungie’s crafted universe have found a new director, and that filming will start sometime later in 2019.

For who will take Wyatt’s place is Otto Bathurst, who many can say is one of the more exciting Directors from the UK. Bathurst will also be taking the position as the show’s Executive Producer as well.
For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Bathurst’s previous work, he’s directed the first episode of Black Mirror ‘The National Anthem’ as well as the first three episodes for BBC’s Peaky Blinders. His film Robin Hood also hit theaters not too long ago last year as well.
For when we could expect the Showtime series to arrive has not been disclosed as of yet. But assuming the time it takes for pre-production to filming and following with post-production/editing, we might possibly see it in late 2020. Which also might line up with the current rumors circulating around when the new line of hardware for Xbox will drop, and that the upcoming Halo Infinite title will be a launch title for also.
