Looking at the coming forecast for the latter segment of this summer, fans are surely enticed to finally get their hands on the complete remake for the 2002 crime drama title. The announcement virtually came out of the blue as followers anticipated that developer Hanger 13 is already primed for more to be shared regarding the next installment in the series, Mafia 4. But instead, fans were greeted with the Mafia Trilogy instead.
Following a string of listings that have emerged online prior to the announcement, each entry of the series was provided with a respected ‘Definitive Edition’ version developed in anticipation for current hardware and consoles around. Currently, both Mafia II and Mafia III are available while the more anticipated Mafia is underway for release later in August.
However, that was until the most recent announcement from Hanger 13. According to a new blog post made by the firm this week, the studio confirms that more time will be needed before Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available for purchase.
Though we’d originally planned to release the game one month earlier on August 28, finalizing everything in time for that launch date has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, and the last thing we want to do is compromise the quality of the experience.
But in light of this pretty gloomy update, Hanger 13 does have some good news to spare fans. In that, the developer shares that the first official gameplay look for the game will be arriving at the other end of this month. The team frames this approaching demo to be an “extended look” at the reimagined title, so most of our questions could be answered in the coming weeks.
In a previous report that Hanger 13 elaborated on, the studio disclosed some juicy details regarding Mafia: Definitive Edition. During the arrival of the revamped versions for Mafia II & Mafia III, the team revealed that the coming remake would be utilizing the same Havok engine that its latest successor is using alongside new dialogue being included in the new version as well. Will you be fine waiting an additional month for Mafia: Definitive Edition?
Mafia: Definitive Edition will arrive to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 25, 2020.
