Helldivers 2 receives first major update on August 6

Helldivers 2 from Arrowhead Studios has been one of this year’s more popular new releases and hasn’t received any large updates. The cooperative third-person shooter will be getting its first major update on August 6.

Escalation of Freedom will bring more content including new environmental hazards, mission objectives, and more. 

• Difficulty Level 10

• New mission objectives

• Bigger enemy outposts

• New Bugs and Bots 

• New environmental hazards

The announcement video for Escalation of Freedom teases what to expect in the update including the environments and the new difficulty level. Helldivers 2 needed this update for a while as the player base continued to drop and it was recently at a 90% loss in players.

Helldivers 2 is currently available to play on PC and PlayStation 5. It is not available for Xbox Series X|S.
