The irony of Hello Games is the complete 180 degree shift the developer has made itself into in the duration since the release of No Man’s Sky. At launch, the title was a notorious misleading project which promised so much and did not deliver any of the bullet points that was issued like multiplayer and engaging worlds. But now, Hello Games is giving pointers to developers for Fallout 76 and Anthem in recent months.

For No Man’s Sky in 2021, the developer back in February shipped its update which introduced companions to the galactic exploration title. As you might expect, players will have to tend to the outer space creature and raise them from infancy alike most in-game pets, of course. But for March, Hello Games sneaks in a new update at the last day.

On Wednesday, No Man’s Sky welcomes its newest ‘Expeditions Update’. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“Introducing a whole new game mode: Expeditions. Each of these events starts from a fixed point in the universe, bringing the whole community of travellers together to embark on a shared journey,” Hello Games writes about the latest update. “Each expedition is structured around a series of Milestones. Complete these unique exploration goals in any order as you earn rewards, meet up with fellow travellers, and experiment with new ways of playing No Man’s Sky.”

As players are familiar with in-game events, expeditions are structure in a similar manner. Completing expeditions will be tallied for an overall season in which welcomes new rewards for players to unlock as they play. Most noted is the readjustment for how missions are tackled following the update. “The process of finding mission locations has been reworked to add more exploration gameplay.

“Instead of just following a marker, the Analysis Visor’s new Target Sweep mode requires players to use their tracking skills to precisely locate their target.” Do you plan to return to No Man’s Sky for the latest update?

No Man’s Sky is out now for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
