Here’s A Full Look At The Official Packaging For The Xbox Series S

For 2020, the long and painful pealing of details off both Microsoft and Sony is officially here as the two firms are beginning to spare much needed details on the next-generation set of consoles. Last week, Microsoft after a fallout of leaks regarding the Xbox Series S unveiled the disc-free unit alongside providing a November-slated release for both the entry-level system and the beefier Xbox Series X.

With pre-orders scheduled to begin on September 22 next week, more continued to seep through the cracks for the new systems. In that, one Canadian retailer offered a glimpse at the Xbox Series X packaging that only riled up fans even more for when payments can be processed in the coming week. Howbeit, the Xbox Series S was left out at the time.

But now, the carton for the Xbox Series X alongside the cheaper Xbox Series S has both been shared online simultaneously. Even more, Xbox General Manager Aaron Greenberg went to verify the two boxes to be legitimate in a tweet by @klobrille.

As suspected of the latter packaging, the Xbox Series S’ presentation illustrates to emphasize heavily on the unique design of the next-generation system for the advertised box. Presenting the unit to be the smaller iteration, it only covers half of the front side next to the ‘Robot White’ controller. While the side of the box pictures the console and the controller together in a full picture.

Looking to the markings on the box, we see the Velocity Architecture symbol alongside an indication that emphasizes the absence of the optical disc drive. Even more, Microsoft also directs the writings to highlight the power of the small system by properly displaying “120 FPS” on the package as well. And evidently, the carton also discloses the 512 SSD storage capacity on the box as well.

The back sides of the box not presented are predicted to offer more of the finer details on the Xbox Series S. In other related new for the next-generation system, Microsoft clarified in a statement to Gamespew that the latter unit does withhold the horsepower for 4K enhanced backwards compatibility compared to its sibling system.
