
Since Wednesday morning, it has been troubling to avoid the new information surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. Set to launch in June, Nintendo is charging $449 for the newest console. One of the biggest incentives for the system is Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: being a subscriber grants you the new GameCube Virtual Console which will be only available on there.
The presentation also reveals that a good amount of your games are eligible for enhancements. A list of first-party titles will be receiving ‘Upgrade Packs’ and there are even some that are confirmed to be a free update as well. Third-party support is certainly a notable portion of the livestream with titles like Cyberpunk 2077 being showcased during the Direct.

“From acclaimed hits like SPLIT FICTION and ELDEN RING to sports phenoms like EA SPORTS Madden NFL and NBA 2K, and highly anticipated games like Hades II and Borderlands 4, Nintendo Switch 2 is the place where players can find the full range of gaming experiences,” Nintendo writes in the press release.
Probably the most stark announcement from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is The Duskbloods. What has been roughly a decade since the release of Bloodborne, FromSoftware is developing a spiritual successor that is launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
